Role Description

The 2027 Summer Legal Intern will support attorneys and staff in delivering high-quality legal services to clients in Milwaukee, WI. This is a full-time, on-site role that involves conducting legal research, analyzing statutes and case law, and preparing memoranda, summaries, and draft documents. The intern will assist with drafting and reviewing estate planning documents, probate pleadings, trust administration materials, and other legal forms under attorney supervision. Day-to-day responsibilities may include organizing case files, helping prepare materials for client meetings and court appearances, and observing client consultations to better understand strategy and communication. The intern will collaborate with the legal team, contribute to case preparation, and uphold professional and ethical standards in all work.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited law school;
  completion of at least one year of law school by Summer 2027 is preferred.
• Strong foundation in Law, with interest in estate planning, probate, trusts, Medicaid, family law, or small business succession planning.
• Ability to assist with Legal Consulting tasks, including analyzing client situations and supporting the development of legal strategies.
• Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, formatting, and reviewing legal documents and correspondence.
• Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact professionally with clients and team members.
• Capacity to identify, interpret, and analyze Legal Issues in research and case materials.
• Strong legal research and writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in an on-site team environment.
• Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to ethical standards.
