Nurse Technician

Valley View Medical Center is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network with facilities coast to coast. We are driven by a profound commitment to prioritize your well-being so you can provide exceptional care to others. As a Nurse Technician joining our team, you're embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. Join us on this meaningful journey where your skills, compassion and dedication will make a remarkable difference in the lives of those we serve.

We are the Tri-State area's newest hospital but draw on decades of experience and over 100 years of heritage. Valley View is a place where the latest technology meets compassion, a hospital singularly-focused on delivering a new level of patient care.

The hospital serves the dynamic area surrounding Bullhead City, Arizona, Laughlin, Nevada, and Needles, California. It is conveniently located in Ft. Mohave, a Bullhead City suburb. In fact, the hospital is located several miles due east of the exact spot in the Colorado River where the three states come together!

A Nurse Technician who excels in this role:

  • Performs basic patient care as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake/output recording.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, and ambulation.
  • Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
  • Keeps patient rooms and common areas clean, safe, and appropriately stocked.
  • Manages the tech desk and supports nursing/physician staff and department throughput.
  • Documents care and activities per unit standards.
  • Participates in performance improvement and required education; performs other duties as assigned.

We believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care. In addition to your base compensation, this position also offers:

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Multiple levels of medical, dental and vision coverage for full-time and part-time employees.
  • Financial Protection & PTO: Life, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity insurance, short- and long-term disability, paid family leave and paid time off.
  • Financial & Career Growth: Higher education and certification tuition assistance, loan assistance and 401(k) retirement package and company match.
  • Employee Well-being: Mental, physical, and financial wellness programs (free gym memberships, virtual care appointments, mental health services and discount programs).
  • Professional Development: Ongoing learning and career advancement opportunities.

What we're looking for:

  • Education: High school diploma preferred.
  • Licenses: SRNA or EMT preferred.
  • Certifications: BCLS required; Handle with Care preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and navigate multiple software systems.
  • Effective English communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak clearly.
  • Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be capable of frequent standing, walking, reaching, keyboard entry, repetitive movements, kneeling, and lifting/moving patients; occasional sitting and squatting; rare running or climbing. Near/far vision and depth perception frequent/constant; color distinction frequent.
  • Must be comfortable with the risk of occasional exposure to biohazardous waste, communicable diseases/pathogens, dust, gases/vapors/fumes, and hazardous chemicals/medications; latex exposure frequent.

Valley View opened in November 2005 as a 102,000-square-foot acute-care facility with two adjacent medical office buildings. Growth in the area meant growth at the hospital, and Valley View's main building is now 126,000 square feet. This state-of-the-art hospital is currently licensed with 52 medical/surgical beds, 12 acute rehabilitation beds, 12 intensive care beds, and an eight-bed labor, delivery and post-partum unit, and is the only all private bed hospital serving the Bullhead City/Laughlin/Needles area. In addition to private rooms, all admitted patients have individual restrooms (including showers), cable TV and free local newspapers, and some rooms have recliner loungers for family members.

The labor/delivery/obstetrics unit has additional security and restricted access measures to ensure the safety of patients, whether adults, children or newborns.

There is a 16-bed emergency department open around the clock. The surgery department has six major operating rooms and two endoscopy suites, plus a modern, high-tech cardiac catheterization unit. The diagnostic imaging department provides all digital modalities for outpatient and inpatient testing, from digital mammograms and simple x-rays to high-tech PET-CTs for cancer detection and nuclear medicine. And Valley View's Picture Archival Communication (PAC) system provides your physicians with instant access, storage, retrieval and display of high quality digital images.

In all, Valley View and its affiliated medical professionals provide nearly 30 medical specializations, offering big city 21st Century technology with the personal touch so refreshing in a non-urban community.

Valley View Medical Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Valley View Medical Center is committed to Equal Employment Opportunity for all applicants and employees and complies with all applicable laws prohibiting discrimination and harassment in employment.
